Pupil and Family Engagement Team

Supporting Attendance and Enabling Success

At Richmond Academy, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, and regular school attendance is one of the most important factors in helping children achieve success. Working across The Harmony Trust, our Pupil & Family Engagement Team (P&FET) is dedicated to supporting children and families, ensuring that barriers to attendance are identified early and addressed effectively.

The team works closely with families, school staff and external agencies to provide the right support at the right time. Whether families need advice, guidance or access to specialist services, P&FET can signpost and connect them with a wide range of support, including Family Hubs, POINT, TOG Mind, Early Help services and other local authority partners.

At Richmond Academy, the team is led by Mrs Costello, Trust Leader for Pupil & Family Engagement, who works alongside school staff to promote excellent attendance and ensure every child is able to fully benefit from the opportunities school provides. Mrs Costello is also one of our valued reading volunteers, supporting children to develop their confidence and enjoyment of reading as part of our cross-trust commitment to improving reading outcomes for all.

By building strong partnerships with families and providing timely, compassionate support, our Pupil & Family Engagement Team plays a vital role in helping children attend school regularly, achieve their potential and flourish both academically and personally.
