Inclusion Hubs 2026 - 2027
Welcome to our Inclusion Hubs
Welcome to the Inclusion Hubs at Richmond Academy. Our Inclusion Hubs provide nurturing, supportive and highly personalised environments where children can develop their confidence, independence and ability to engage positively with learning and school life.
We recognise that every child is unique, and our provision is carefully designed around individual strengths, needs and starting points. Children are supported through a combination of purposeful learning, positive relationships, consistent routines and carefully adapted approaches that help them to thrive.

Jade Class
Welcome to Jade Class, we base the children’s learning around the four areas of need:
Communication & Interaction
Cognition & Learning
Social, Emotional & Mental Health
Sensory and/or Physical
As all of our children have an EHCP, learning is centred around the achievement of their personal long-term outcomes, and we build upon their ideas and interests, responding in the moment, or through planned experiences to support each child’s learning and development.
We adopt a total communication approach - verbal communication alongside Signalong, symbols, objects of reference and gestures. We follow advice from our in-house Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT) team on universal strategies as well as specific interventions to support our children's individual communication and language targets. Similarly, we receive and act upon expert advice regarding occupational therapy and sensory integration, via our in-house Occupational Therapist (OT).
We have predictable routines, using a clear interactive visual timetable, which allows our pupils to understand how their day is moving on. Key accessible symbols help the children communicate their basic needs and wants.

A very warm welcome to our Early Development Inclusion Hub – a nurturing, inclusive space where every child is valued, celebrated and supported to thrive.
We recognise that every child develops in their own way and at their own pace. Through strong relationships, carefully planned provision and individualised support, we create opportunities for children to communicate, explore, build confidence and develop their independence.
At the heart of our Hub is a simple belief: we start with the child, their strengths, their interests and their potential – and build from there.
