Nursery

Welcome to Nursery

This year, the staff in Diamond Class are:

Miss Walker, Mrs Wood, Miss Jenkinson and Mrs Morrison

Throughout the year, we have six exciting themes which underpin our learning. These are; Nursery Rhymes, Food, Traditional Tales, People who help us, Minibeasts and Transport. Throughout the year parents will be invited into school to see what the children have been learning and to take some ideas home to continue learning with your child. At the end of the year, we go on a very exciting trip as part of our learning around Transport.

Alongside these themes, we follow all the children’s interests through a play based approach. The children have continuous access to our indoor and outdoor provision where they can explore, create, think, learn and develop with the support from their teachers. We ensure that caring, nurturing and warm relationships are developed between all members of staff and children. We also work hard as a team to foster positive relationships with parents, and value the importance of this close working partnership.

Developing a love of reading is very important to us and we want all children to be excited about books. Your child will bring home a lending library book which they can change every day. Please read and share stories with them as often as you can.

Music sessions take place every other week. Miss Savile comes in and we join in with rhymes and songs as well as learning how to use some sign a long.

Please keep following our Nursery page for further updates about our learning journey filled with awe and wonder!
